{Big Granny Baby Blanket}

Hello everyone!

The past day, I've been working on this baby blanket for a newborn baby at our church. It's super simple and oh-so-fun! It's just one big granny square. I had planned to change colors every two rows, but I ran out of yarn very quickly and the rows became larger and I now know that the limit is one row per color! I'm using Vanna's Choice in boy colors. Green, gray, brown, black, blue, and I'm going to make a white border. It may be hard, however, to find a border that is 'boy-ish' enough for the colors and design I'm doing. Do you guys have any suggestions? It currently measures about 17 in. across and I plan to make it 25-30 in. That is, with the border.

Have a wonderful day!

{My first EVER tutorial!!}

Hey Guys! I'm so excited to share with you my first ever tutorial on Would You Like Yarn With That!!!! If you have ANY problems PLEASE let me know! I would be happy to help! Here ya go!

You will need:

~Two african Flower Motifs (I featured them in an earlier post)

~Matching yarn for the handles (I'm using yarn that doesn't match for clarity, but PLEASE use a matching color. It will look alot nicer if you do.)

~Scissors

~ An H or G Hook

Special Stitches:

Extended SC--Draw up a loop in the specified space. YO, pull through one loop, YO pull through two loops.

Foundation SC--Find a video for that here

Let's get started!

Start with a slip knot on your hook. Then lay the two hexagons together with right sides facing.

Next, you're going to look at the spaces in the corners of the hexagons. You should see one chain in between the two double crochets in the corner. Now, slide your hook through the BACK LOOP of one of these chains on one hexagon, and do the same thing for your other hexagon. You now should have two hexagons 'hanging' on your hook. Look at the next pic for help.

Next, YO, draw up this loop, YO, and pull through the two loops on your hook. Congrats! You just made a single crochet in BLO, or back loops only! Now, repeat this process--put your hook in the back loops of two stitches - one on either hexagon - and single crochet. Repeat this all the way across this side of the hexagon.

In the next chain space (or corner) do an extended single crochet instead of a regular one.

Now do a foundation single crochet in this stitch. Keep making foundation single crochets until this 'handle' is as long as you would like.

Now skip this next side and single crochet in the corner chain space. But remember, BLO!!!

Now it's just a matter of single crocheting all around the rest of the purse. Slip stitch in the top of the first single crochet and FO. Tie the two ends in a double knot. Turn right side out.

You're finished! Wasn't that easy?!

Just let me know if you have any problems and I'll help you with them asap!
